Amethyst

Amethyst is one of those stones that everyone knows and with good reason! It is so extremely powerful and has so many metaphysical properties I could keep you here all day if I were to list them all. Mind, body and soul, it’s got you covered. Calming or stimulating dependant on your needs. Often know as the All Healer and its hard to argue with that title.

The varying shades of lavender through to violet and every shade of purple in between along with its radiant sparkle is truly divine. It was one of the first crystals I was drawn to as a child as I felt my way through the tumble stones in one of the those shops that sells everything that graced every seaside town along the UK coastline. It was my daughters first crystal too, slipped under her pillow to help bring her restful sleep.

Often mistaken for Lapis Lazuli, Sodalite is usually seen as a beautiful deep blue stone mottled with lighter blue/white shades similar to Lapis Lazuli but without the flecks of Pyrite. Sodalite occasionally showcases shades of pink, yellow or green alongside its rich blue hues.

I often think that Sodalite is overlooked, I know I used to be guilty of this. It is however now high up on my list of favourites! Such a beautiful stone for the calming of the mind. It allows old mindsets to be released making way for new practices to replace them. It’s a stone of emotional balance and can have a calming effect if you suffer from panic attacks. Tigers Eye

Tigers Eye was traditionally carried as a talisman against curses. It harnesses a combination of sun and earth energies creating a grounded but high vibration. I think its common to have a love-hate relationship with Tigers Eye, it can feel uncomfortable to some as it delves into the depths of our psyches without a second thought to boundaries.

It is a great stone for helping to heal issues around self-worth and self-criticism helping to unblock your path to creativity. A powerful confidence boosting and protective stone.
